Julia Rick, MEd, RP, CCC
Director, Registered Psychotherapist
Hi, I'm Julia. I most often work with those seeking support for trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and parenting strategies. I am a family member of the policing community and an affiliate of Canada Beyond the Blue. I work with many first responders, and their families, to cope with the effects of ongoing stress and critical incidents. I focus on building strong therapeutic relationships with patients and use a combination of approaches to best fit their needs or abilities.

In addition to trauma work, I have specialized experience in helping families navigate the education system. Persistent school challenges can create long-term issues for a student, so early intervention is key. Identifying triggers and effective coping strategies is crucial for life-long stress management; it can even improve relationships in the home.

My self-care includes quality time with my loved ones and pets. I enjoy a good biography, documentary, and doing anything creative. I stay active as a humble student of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

It's common for patients to feel nervous at first and therapists are used to it! If you are contemplating therapy for the first time, or deciding to give it another try with someone new, book a call to see if we're a fit. We can discuss your questions or concerns to help you feel more prepared for next steps.
