Registered Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Susanne. My journey through life has been a colourful blend of diverse encounters, cultural experiences, individual accomplishments and failures. Having lived in both Canada and the Caribbean, my worldview encompasses both cultures and the struggles and challenges related to immigration and
acculturation. Life can bring us to our knees. Wherever you find yourself now, I promise you, healing is possible, ultimately attaining the personal growth you desire; there is hope. If you are an adult or adolescent looking to make changes in yourself and your relationships, you have come to the right place. It is true that most humans are resilient but sometimes situations occur in our lives where the assistance of a non-judgmental, compassionate therapist can make all the difference in the world!
I specialize in individual, couples, and family therapy. I value principles of self-empowerment, mutual respect, and compassion and I will always respect your right to make your own choices. I am an interactive and collaborative therapist, providing an atmosphere for positive intrapsychic change. I
integrate complementary methodologies and techniques; Experiential Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, EMDR, and Parts Work, to work successfully with a broad spectrum of clients.
I work with each client to help address their inner experience, tapping into that place of internal, unshakeable goodness and giving those pesky internal monologues less power; cultivating and building your healthiest self! I am passionate about healing from the past so that you are better able to be
present in everyday life and experience new freedom.
My self-care includes spending time with loved ones and my pets, practicing Pilates, Yoga Nidra, and experiencing the outdoors. I love to be in nature; the wilderness and being on the water are my two happy places. I cherish my daily routines, and get great enjoyment from reading a good book or watching a great comedy.
Deciding to start or return to therapy can be a difficult decision, it can be both nerve racking and anxiety provoking not knowing what to expect or where to start. If you are still contemplating whether therapy is right for you at this time, book a call to see if we are a good fit! We can discuss your questions and concerns so you feel more prepared for the next step. Together, we will aim to generate positive, effective solutions that will help you to overcome your obstacles and discover the opportunities that await you.
